The harder you work and faster you move, the less you feel.
I moved to Chicago in the fall of 2009 for a graduate degree in the Humanities at the University of Chicago. I studied Ordinary Life and the fiction of Deborah Eisenberg, but I’m also interested in trauma, hipsters, African-American fiction, Paris, public art, high-speed rail, and everything else.
I currently live in Hyde Park and teach academic writing at the University. I will do this for as long as they let me.
Last year, I wrote 500 words of fiction/creative nonfiction per day (with some cheating involved) for 100 days at Theoretically So. I’m starting to think that maybe, instead of just blogging, I should actually try to get something published. Maybe. One day. I’ve never freelanced, but I’m always open to it. It sure sounds glamorous….just sayin.
Thanks for reading, and I’m always excited for comments!
